The Advia Foundation Awards $33,000 in Youth Scholarships

The Advia Foundation has once again awarded local graduating high school seniors across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois with $1,000 Youth Scholarships! Thirty-three students were chosen from the 130 submitted scholarship applications to receive this scholarship based on their academic achievement, leadership skills, and commitment to their communities.

“The academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement these students demonstrated was extraordinary,” said Nancy Loftis, Advia Foundation President. “We are honored to help them on their path to success.”

When asked about their goals and future plans, some recipients said:

“I hope to have a hand in making a future in which people can use
empathy and compassion to create a country where everyone can have access to the healthcare they need and unsafe drinking water becomes a thing of the past.”

Carinna B., Harper Creek High School

“I truly believe that with the education that Saginaw Valley State University has to offer, I will inherit the priceless ability of not only passing on knowledge to students, but the ability to connect with them on a day-to-day basis, molding them into the future of our society.”

Brendan D., Port Huron Northern High School

“I dream of using what I learn to make discoveries that will be beneficial to society. Although this dream seems elusive at the moment, I know that with hard work and determination I can make it a reality.”

Haley A., Gull Lake High School

“One of my dreams would be to eventually work for a Robotics manufacturer. I would like to constantly be designing new things and solving new problems rather than having a job where I have to analyze the same piece of metal for a week or manufacture the same part for years.”

Ian G., Giles Academy

Advia Credit Union and the Advia Foundation are proud to be a part of these scholarship recipients’ road to success! We wish these scholarship recipients, and the entire class of 2020, much luck on their future endeavors.
